This article was written on my diary way back when we were traveling around Lombardia, Italy on a Tuktuk.

I am back traveling with my sister Krista and her boyfriend Kees after we split up in Crete, Greece. We woke up this morning in a lovely little hotel named Hotel Thea in Monza, which is near Milan. Today was our first full day with In Lombardia. I had a client call early in the morning and afterward, we met all the other bloggers and Instagrammers. After meeting the others in the hotel lobby we took our transport for the coming four days: a tuk-tuk!

As we will sleep in a different city in the Lombardy region every night, we will be taking all our luggage with us in the tuk-tuk. As you can see in the pictures it is pretty cozy and full haha! Our first stop was just across the street at the Villareal building. Here we parked all the tuk-tuks beside each other and took the pictures with the whole group and the amazing scenery of Villarreal in the background.

Then we continued our journey to Verona Brianza, which took us about one hour to reach. Although the maximum speed of the tuk-tuk was only 75 when going downhill, we still went on the highway to reach our destination. So after we finally reached our destination we stopped at the local butcher shop The Luganega Di Monza. Here we got to see how the local meat Luganega di Monza is produced by Gigi Viganò and his staff. After that Gigi and his family prepared a table full of meat snacks from which was amazing!

On our way to the third destination, we had a quick stop in Brivio to enjoy the view of the river and the mountains. Shortly after that, we reached the beautiful city, Bergamo. Here it was already time to eat again haha! We parked our tuk-tuks right in front of the restaurant Balzer. The chef Vittorio Fusari has worked for a Michelin star restaurant and prepared us an excellent five dish course. The dishes are all prepared with ingredients from the region. It is impressive how he can make food taste so good with oftentimes so few ingredients.

With full stomachs, we continued our journey to Bergamo Alta, which is in the city center. Here we roamed around to see the square and churches. Then we drove just a little further to Le Mura which means the wall. This is an overlooking spot with an amazing view over Bergamo! To conclude our sightseeing for today, we went to the town Urgnano where we visited the castle. Our guide Nicoli was awaiting us there is a traditional green outfit. Nicoli informed us about the history of the castle, from the frescos on the wall to the families that possessed it.

Our last stop for today was the hotel La Muratella. We put our luggage in our room and quickly refreshed before we had dinner altogether to conclude our day. Tomorrow we will continue our journey to Iseo Lake by tuk-tuk!
