Do you love having long road trips with your partner? If you do, then our honeymoon adventure in Villa La Angostura might just be the perfect choice for you. We drove another 87 kilometers from Rio Hermoso just to reach Villa La Angostura! That might seem like exhausting for some people. Well, it really was. But the good thing is (and I can bet my life on it), it’s going to be worth it.

Villa La Angostura, Patagonia is an amazing town on Nahuel Huapi Lake. In here you can find Alpine – style structures that are complementing the picturesque mountains, forests, and lakes surrounding the area. According to most people who wandered around Patagonia, they consider the town as the most beautiful. And yes, I couldn’t agree more.

On our way to Villa Angostura, we saw a lot of backpackers. Can you just imagine how far we’ve come as travelers? That added fun to our long drive. After all, it was such a nice feeling reminiscing those days, most especially now that we are already husband and wife.

Anyway, I’m sure you want to know what we did in La Angostura so I won’t prolong this introduction anymore. Of course, there are still a few more things that we wanted to do but due to time constraint, we will just include it on our wish list.

Are you ready?

Activities We Did in Villa La Angostura, Patagonia

Boat Ride, Trekking, and Picnic at Rincon & Machete – When you are in Villa La Angostura, Patagonia, you have to savor the wonders of nature. Thus, most of the things we did were outdoor activities. We had a boat ride that made us fall in love with Nahuel Huapi Lake. Then we went on a trek and treated ourselves with a nice picnic at Rincon & Machete.

You might think that these things are quite simple, but then again, you have to realize that these simple things are what we are taking for granted. We are living in a world filled with high – end technology that we forget to appreciate the natural wonders of the world.

Spa Time – I think I’m getting addicted to spas. Well, you can blame our hectic schedules! That’s probably the reason why I love getting some awesome treatment and therapies. I used to do massages back then. It’s about time to turn the table.

Above activities were both with Hotel Correntoso which is celebrating their 100th year. You can just imagine how superb the service is for staying that long in the industry.

Kayaking adventure with Endurance Kayak PatagoniaWe met Alexis Bellezze and he is totally amazing. Apart from the clear blue waters, you would definitely love Alexis’ company. He is very friendly and a great kayak instructor. When with him, you know that you are in good hands.

When you are in this part of Patagonia, Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi is a must visit. This is where you can do the fun activities that we experienced.

Horseback Riding to Mirador Belvedere & Inacayal Fall with Tero Bogani – And since I’ve conquered my fear of riding horses and falling, I joined another one in La Angostura, Patagonia. It was definitely something that I would recommend because you get to see the view at your own pace.

Food Trip at the Following:

Our trip to Villa La Angostura, Patagonia was a feast. Check out what we ate!

Lunch at Viejos Tiempos Restaurante – I ordered Rib Eye steak while Jonathan had a trout. They have great food and superb service. Located at Avenida Nahuel Huapi Villa La Angostura, Neuquén, Argentina, the owner said that the best time to visit the restaurant would be on winter as it is most beautiful at that time.

Dinner at Hub Restaurant – I ate salmon fish, in an attempt to eat ‘light’, while Jon had his favorite lamb stew.

Dinner at Lobo Restaurant – This place has one of the coolest ambiances. You can definitely enjoy the food and of course, the entire atmosphere. They say that you can feel at home when in Lobo Restaurant. That’s how I exactly felt!

Our Wish List on our Next Visit to Villa La Angostura, Patagonia

There are still more things to do in Villa La Angostura, Patagonia and I am going to make a quick note of it for our next visit.

Biking/ Cycling – There are some tourists who braved the old road to Lake Espejo using bikes. I might need to train for this but I’m sure it can get pretty exciting to go down (and up) the dirt road.

Zip Lining – Why don’t you appreciate the natural scenery of Patagonia by zip lining? If you are not afraid of heights, this would be an awesome experience.

Ice Skating – A wonderful activity most especially during winter. I just hope I can keep my balance.

Skiing – And of course, skiing is a must. I can’t wait to see Villa La Angostura covered in snow!

Where We Stayed

We stayed in this awesome apartment called El Mercado in Villa La Angostura, Patagonia. It’s not the usual luxurious accommodation where we stayed at on our previous travels and made reviews of. But boy, El Mercado made me appreciate rustic and shabby things. It looks old and seasoned but surprisingly, this property was built 4 years ago. When you stay in this apartment, you can get a fantastic view of Cerro Bayo.
