Like true – blue adventurers, Jon and I decided to drive from Buenos Aires to Mendoza, Argentina. It was a 12 – hour drive, but we enjoyed every minute of it. It was like a different honeymoon adventure for us, which we would totally recommend. The plane ride and air ticket would be cheaper but hey, let us do this thing while we are young. And so should you!
Being the wine capital of Argentina coupled with a great weather and landscapes to die for, what’s half a day on the road, right? You can do so much here such as rafting, horseback riding or just relax and enjoy the nature. It’s for the entire family and of course, for honeymooners like us. Yes, we are still on that stage, and it gets better every time.
We stayed in this amazing property called Club Tapiz. It’s actually a residence built in 1890. Can you imagine how old yet fascinating the structure is? That alone is very interesting knowing that the building itself has a lot of stories to tell. Located in Maipu, Mendoza, you can enjoy and be with nature and its vineyard. If you stay here, you get to fall in love with the view of Cordillera de Los Andes – no less. If you feel stressed and all, you definitely need to check this place out. It’s where you can go back to the basics and take life slowly.
The Rooms
The hotel has seven massive luxurious rooms where all or these are complete with things you need for a perfect vacation. The ambiance of the property reminded me of the ancestral houses in the Philippines. Which reminds me, I can’t wait to go back home and see my loved ones! It’s very homey and serene. The rooms have heating/ air-conditioning, phone, safe box deposit and TV (but I don’t think you need a TV given the things you can do in Mendoza).
The bathroom is extremely neat. I would say it’s simple yet screams elegance all over. Actually, it is spacious based on my standards. This is definitely something that I would consider in case I am to design my own.
Just one glance, you can say that this is the perfect accommodation, most especially if you had a long drive – or if you want a quiet place after your wedding!
The Food
And what about their food? One word – DIVINE!
Club Tapiz has its own restaurant where you would be able to eat the best regional food while enjoying the view of vineyards and Cordillera de Los Andes. Imagine having a relaxing and sumptuous lunch like that.
The restaurant is open from 7:30 AM to 2:00 AM ensuring that the guests will be satisfied any time of the day.
There is a free wine tasting at 8: 00 PM which you might not want to miss.
The Facility
I was definitely OK staying in our room as it was already a treat for me. However, Bodega Y Club Tapiz offers more than perfect rooms. They have the following facilities.
Common Spaces – The common spaces in Bodega Y Club Tapiz is also commendable. They have the living room and garden where you can relax and even make friends.
Business Center – If you are a nomad who takes your work everywhere, you don’t have to worry about internet connection or other business essentials. The hotel has that for you. Even if the hotel is ‘classic’ in design, they made sure that the needs of the modern people are in the property.
Event Hall – There is a facility that can accommodate 200 people, perfect if you want to hold huge gatherings.
Spa – And of course, if you want to feel extremely rejuvenated, you might want to try their spa which has a sauna, massage room, and other therapies ideal for young couples who would like to relax.
Activity Guide
Here are few things you shouldn’t miss when you visit Mendoza, Argentina.
Wine Tasting – It would be a mortal sin not to taste wine in Mendoza. If you love such activity, I bet you would want to stay, or even live here. Visit Ruca Malen Vineyard and enjoy not just the wines, but also their mouth- watering food. We had one of our lunches here, and it was so hard not to dive in and gulp down everything.
Water Rafting – If you are up for some water rafting adventures, there are different options to choose from in Mendoza. As honeymooners, I would recommend that you try something that you can boast to your future kids and grandchildren.
Acuario Municipal de Mendoza – Perfect idea if you have kids because everyone will enjoy here. It is not a huge zoo, so it is easier to go around, but a lot of people are surprised seeing what’s inside.
Mercado Central – You would definitely have fun in this old – school market since it has a lot of things in store for you. You can dine on a budget, get some souvenirs or just people – watch. It’s a must visit, and I bet you wouldn’t regret going here.
Horseback Riding – I tried riding horses before, but I was panicky and nervous. Let’s just say – I was too afraid to fall. I think I’ve started to overcome it recently when I’ve connected my fears with real life situations! And what a cool place to face my fear, right? I was able to conquer it in Argentina! To go on a horseback riding trip with a Gaucho was just pure joy. Contact SAK Wine & Travel to book the best tour!
